Things are heating up In 33 ⅓ land, I’ve just sent off a boatload of great writing to the shop (the shop being the copyediting/production department).
That would be:

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS TAKEOVER.
You can buy the book here to read to your young children at night.
I’ve just returned from the M for Montreal music festival, where a magazine editor, a record label founder, a pop star and I discussed the future of music and publishing. We didn’t really come to any conclusion….but I’ll keep you posted.
And did you hear that we made guitar pics?

What was the first song you learned on the guitar? Post in the comments by December 5th, 2013 for a chance to win 1 of 5 of these!

Wild Thing!
lithium by nirvana!
“Lazy Eye” by Silversun Pickups!! Those picks look great, dudes! I just picked up a copy of the They Might Be Giants release, and I’m stoked to start it!
“Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)” by the Beatles. It was the first song mutually agreed upon by my guitar teacher and me.
Nice! The first full song I learned on guitar was Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild”… still rock out to it once in a while!
As I play bass, I first learned basic blues riffs. However for full songs, it was either “Seven Nation Army”, or Belle and Sebastian’s “Like Dylan in the Movies”
The first song I learned on guitar was Nirvana’s “About A Girl”.
after learning “smoke on the water” like everyone else, I learned to play “eye of the tiger”. I know it’s weird…
First one I learned was definitely joy divisions’s “transmission”! Easy to play lead and it taught me how to bar chord too! I need picks!!!
“My Name Is Jonas” by Weezer
When I got my electric guitar in college the first song I figured out was ‘Seven Nation Army’ and it drove my roommates crazy.
Phish’s “Waste.” Go figure.
“Under the bridge” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers… very poorly learned, I’ll add, but I did it learn in like, a 12 hour marathon first day thing.
“Under the bridge” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers… very poorly, I may add, but I did learn it first.
the first thing that i ever played on a guitar was 4′33″ by John Cage
