What to expect from Roshanak’s 33 1/3:
This is a book about a very important LP released in 1968 but it is also a history of the present through this LP. It is a book about the synthesizer—thought to be the first musical instrument invented in the 20th century—and the synthesist who made the synthesizer sound famous.
It is a book about gender and technology and where these formations meet in sound. It brings all these disparate topics together in the tradition of feminist science and technology studies but with a new focus for this field—sound.
Say Hello to Roshanak!
I hope the album is in print again before the book is released!
